Data Management & Consulting

Consulting and Research

ISO’s professional staff has extensive experience in identifying and responding to our customers’ needs for information. Consulting engagements range from predictive modeling to statistical and analytical analysis, and from sophisticated actuarial analysis to information management and data collection.

ISO’s greatest asset is our 2,800 employees — recognized experts and leaders in their respective fields. Many of our employees serve on national advisory committees and have advanced degrees, certifications, and designations in areas including fire protection, insurance, risk management, actuarial analysis, and finance and economics. Our team of highly qualified and trained professionals also represents the following disciplines:

  • science — atmospheric and climate science, geology, geophysics, hydrology, meteorology, and seismology
  • engineering — architectural, civil, hydraulic, seismic, structural, wind, and simulation modeling
  • information services — software and network engineering, security, and database architecture

Here’s just a sampling of ISO staff credentials:

  • actuarial professionals, including Casualty Actuarial Society Fellows and Associates
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters
  • Certified Insurance Data Managers
  • Insurance Data Management Association members
  • PhDs in statistical modeling, engineering, geology, economics, health economics, and other disciplines
  • hundreds of employees with various master’s degrees

And ISO has the greatest number of Certified Fire Protection Specialists — a designation that recognizes professional competency in fire protection, fire safety, and fire prevention — of any employer in the country.

There are times when you need very specific research to evaluate a strategy, market, or new business direction. When your agency doesn’t have the resources available on staff, ISO can help by gathering, evaluating, and reporting on trends and developments in the marketplace — and gauging their effects on your current or potential industry. We’ll draw on the same databases, expertise, and other ISO resources.

ISO is also a federal MOBIS (Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services) contractor. As a MOBIS contractor, we offer products and services such as consulting and inspections as covered in the GSA MOBIS Federal Supply Schedule (MOBIS Contract No. GS-10F-0096N).
