Commercial Building Information
ISO collects and provides commercial building information — site-collected information on millions of commercial buildings and businesses that operate in the United States. ISO’s field representatives perform extensive fact-gathering when they visit a property. They conduct thorough on-site surveys throughout the country and are trained to identify hazardous conditions and provide unbiased assessments.
Information collected and verified at the source
ISO gives you easy access to decision-quality information:
- a building’s physical location, including longitude and latitude and other addresses used by the specific property
- details about building construction, occupancy, and management controls
- identification of hazardous conditions, and information about private and public fire protection and sprinkler systems
- building photos and diagrams
- exposure to natural hazards
- estimate of the cost to replace the building if destroyed
- estimate of how much damage the building would likely sustain in the event of a significant fire
- a Relative Hazard Grading that evaluates a building’s construction, occupancy, fire protection, and exposure for a specific building, and compares the grade with state and countrywide averages of similar buildings (figure 1)
